Testimonials
“Beekeepers across the country are doing everything they can to stay ahead of the curve, but the losses this year have been unlike anything we’ve seen before. What we need are new, science-based tools that give us a fighting chance. For too long, beekeepers have been stuck reacting to disease. This vaccine flips the script—it’s a proactive approach that offers real potential to reduce losses before they start. I'll be experimenting with a 500 doses of vaccine this year through Dalan's Colony Loss Relief Program and am excited to track the results.”
Chris HiattFormer President of the American Honey Producers Association, California
“The vaxxed queens have better attrition, better acceptance, faster brood build, amazing fall production, less mites, more honey, less stress overall. They’re just better! The vaccinated hives are simply superior to the controls and just better performing hives. You guys have something special here."
Mike WebsterOwner of Ahmic Lake Apiaries, Ontario, Canada
“My apiary received 100 vaccinated queens imported from the USA last season. Like many this year, we took a 60% or more loss coming out of winter here in Ontario. While the loss is always devastating, it was notable that the best survival rate that I experienced in my operation was in the yards where I had trialed queens vaccinated with the Dalan Health vaccine. I also sold some nucs to others with vaccinated queens and reports have come back that those hives produced more honey than nucs purchased from other suppliers and survived the winter well. The benefits of the vaccine and preventative health are definitely worth the cost. This technology is definitely worth a try."
Mike DavidsonOwner of Summer's Gold Honey, Ontario, Canada
“I did up 100 of them [vaccinated queens] last year and marked all the colonies. For spring and summer you won't really notice any difference. It's not like miracle grow for bees, it's not like throwing a bunch of feed supplements at them. Come fall time and preparations for sending bees out West I did notice something apparent. All of the colonies I had marked as vaccinated were just ready to go. None of them needed combined or additional resources. We shipped them out to a holding yard in November and come January when we came back for final prep before grading, again, the vaccinated hives were primarily just good to go. This year we are moving most, if not all of the operation into vaccinated hives. I don't figure this will mean we can cut corners, but it's a small price to pay to have the elevated health to the colonies."
Jason FoleyOwner of Foley’s Russian Bees, Iowa
"Of 8 colonies, the one with the vaccinated queen is currently the strongest going into winter. I find this especially impressive as all the other colonies are locally adapted (100% survival last winter) and most were well established before the arrival of the vaccinated queen."
Dr. Cecily GrantBeekeeper and Veterinarian in BC Canada
"Vaccinated hives were better balanced and had noticeably more honey (even in a challenging honey yield year). They had a better brood pattern, and the queens were generally more vibrant compared to our unvaccinated hives. We're very encouraged with how vaccinated queens have performed."
Nadine RochetteOwner of The Bee Spot in Ontario, Canada
"I'm really excited about the proactive approach to bee health. In our most recent trial, we found that DWV-B viral loads were 90% lower in vaccinated colonies. It looks like this vaccine could be a powerful tool for preventing both AFB and DWV, helping us shift from managing infections to outright prevention."
Trevor TauzerOwner of Tauzer Apiaries and a board member of the California State Beekeepers Association
"Having worked with many Canadian beekeepers, I can attest that disease management is a
substantial concern for them. While this vaccine won't solve all problems faced by our industry
today, it represents a significant step in the right direction, encouraging a shift in how we prevent
and tackle diseases."

"Once these animals show you signs of disease, a lot of times it’s too late. Once the diagnosis of American Foulbrood [has] happened, you’re going to burn that [hive]. So, this is really exciting for us, because this is truly preventative medicine, [and] a tool in our hands that we can truly, truly change a status quo for the better."
Joerg MayerDVM, Professor of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia
"Nobody wants more chemicals out there in agricultural science. We’re all trying to reduce that. And I think earnestly, this fits into that perfectly."
Keith DelaplanePhD, Professor of Entomology, University of Georgia
"We were able to throw away our use of antibiotics, we’re able to not worry as much about outbreaks of AFB in regions that may have naturally in the environment as often because hives are dealing with those outbreaks right away. Just the concept of being able to vaccinate a honeybee just opens the doors to so many different possibilities in the future that we had only dreamed of a few years ago."
